A Hidden Treasure
Jim found the John Day Valley when he entered Prairie City through Dixie Pass at the east end of the Valley in 1976. It felt like home! Before he left town that day, he purchased an old mining claim on Big Canyon Mountain and has been enjoying the Valley ever since, especially the summers. It was always his dream to someday retire here.
Jim and Sandy finally moved to the John Day Valley permanently in 2006 and wanted to provide quality vacation rentals for others to be able to enjoy their vacations here also. Our rentals are great alternatives to staying in a motel room, as they are completely furnished and have all the amenities you will need for a fun vacation.
When you visit, you will be within easy driving distance of swimming holes, the lake, orchards to pick or purchase fruit, mountains, hot springs, museums, fossil beds, cute small towns and surrounded by a beautiful valley.
